About Kevin Konkle

A therapist who actually listens

I became a counselor because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be fully honest — about their struggles, their doubts, and their hopes. That's what I try to create in every session.

Kevin Konkle, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Licensed

LMHC

Hi, I'm Kevin

I'm a licensed mental health counselor based in Indiana, working with teens and adults who are navigating some of life's harder chapters — anxiety, depression, identity questions, faith transitions, and more.

My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I don't believe in sitting silently while you figure it all out alone — I'm an active participant in the work. I'll ask hard questions, offer honest reflections, and celebrate the progress you make, even when it feels small.

Outside the therapy room, I'm a real person with my own story. That lived experience shapes how I show up for clients — with genuine empathy, not just clinical distance.

"I believe healing happens in relationship — and that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful tools we have."

What I believe about therapy

The relationship is the work

Research consistently shows that the therapeutic relationship is the most powerful predictor of good outcomes. I take that seriously — building trust and genuine connection is not a precursor to therapy, it is therapy.

You are the expert on yourself

I bring training and tools. You bring the knowledge of your own life, history, and what matters to you. Good therapy is a collaboration — not a therapist telling you what to do.

Healing is not linear

Progress in therapy rarely looks like a straight line upward. There are hard weeks and breakthroughs, setbacks and shifts. I'll be with you through all of it — not just the easy parts.

Everyone deserves affirming care

I am fully affirming of all identities — LGBTQ+ individuals, people of all faith backgrounds and none, and anyone who has felt unseen or judged by the systems meant to help them.

My therapeutic approach

I draw from several evidence-based modalities, tailoring my approach to what each person actually needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Identifying and shifting thought patterns that keep you stuck

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Building psychological flexibility and living by your values

Trauma-Informed Care

Understanding how past experiences shape present responses

Person-Centered Therapy

Unconditional positive regard and deep listening as the foundation
